Our branch is partnered with a high-producing real estate office that generates a strong, consistent flow of buyer leads. Every one of those leads needs a fast, warm, human conversation — and we need someone who lives for that kind of work. This isn't a desk job buried in paperwork. This is a phone-forward, people-forward role for someone who can build instant rapport, earn trust quickly, and guide a potential homebuyer from “just looking” to “let's get pre-approved.” If you light up when you're connecting with people and you don't flinch at a full call sheet, keep reading. Mortgage experience is a plus but not required. We'll teach you the business. What we can't teach is the ability to make someone feel heard in the first 30 seconds of a phone call. This role has a clear path toward becoming a full Loan Officer for the right person who proves they can convert, communicate, and lead with care.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional phone presence — clear, confident, conversational, and warm
  • A natural connector who builds trust quickly and reads people well
  • High level of customer service instincts — you treat every caller like they matter, because they do
  • Self-motivated, coachable, and comfortable in a high-volume call environment
  • Strong organizational habits and follow-through
  • Comfortable with technology and CRMs

Nice To Haves

  • Mortgage, real estate, or financial services experience is a plus, not a requirement
  • NMLS license is welcomed but not required — we're open to either licensed candidates or candidates willing to pursue licensure

Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls daily to inbound leads from our real estate partner — fast response times are non-negotiable
  • Build genuine connection and trust on every call, regardless of where the lead is in their homebuying journey
  • Take phone applications and walk prospects through the pre-approval process with confidence and warmth
  • Nurture our existing lead database — past inquiries, long-term follow-ups, and clients who weren't quite ready the first time around
  • Coordinate handoffs with the loan production team to keep every file moving
  • Track call activity, conversion rates, and pipeline status in our CRM
  • Represent the Cornerstone brand and our Team with professionalism, integrity, and a service-first mindset on every interaction
  • Partner closely with the Mortgage Advisor to learn the business, ask questions, and grow into expanded responsibilities over time
