About The Position

Dohrn is seeking an entry-level, part-time Clerk at its Northlake, Illinois terminal. The role supports yard operations by greeting incoming truck drivers, collecting and delivering paperwork, coordinating dock-door assignments by two-way radio, and providing directions to drivers. The posted pay is $18.50 per hour, and the schedule is Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions as well as tasks in a generally favorable office environment. Physical demands may include extended periods of walking and standing, occasional lifting or moving of objects, and regular visual, manual-dexterity, speaking, and hearing tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work independently.
• Comfort using a two-way radio.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming truck drivers as they enter the yard.
• Collect bills of lading and other required paperwork from drivers.
• Communicate with the dock via radio to obtain door assignments.
• Clearly and professionally relay instructions to drivers.
• Promptly deliver collected paperwork to the office.
• Maintain a safe and organized yard environment.
• Provide basic assistance and direction to drivers as needed.
• Report issues or delays to supervisors.
• Perform other duties as needed.
