Requirements

  • Knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar usage.
  • Knowledge of letter, report, and tabular formats.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
  • Skill in typing.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Ability to use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Ability to type letters, memoranda, and other standard business forms in correct format.
  • Ability to proofread typed material for typewritten and grammatical errors and to make necessary corrections.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • One year of secretarial or clerical work experience; or Possession of a Certified Professional Secretary Certificate.
  • Vocational/technical training in an area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for the required work experience.
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for the required work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for combining the ward charts and master records upon discharge of all hospital residents.
  • Responsible for entering court ordered expiration dates in hospital database.
  • Responsible for maintaining all office supplies - putting in request for supplies as needed and stocking supply room.
  • Other related duties as requested or assigned.
