About The Position

Performs specialized clerical functions in any one or more of a variety of areas in compliance with government and management directives. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year related experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and audit student records for the purposes of accountability, pay and allowances, government paid travel, clothing allowance, status reports, arrival and separation from center
  • Prepare input, termination and placement documents of all students assigned to center, meet the time requirements as designated by DOL and MTC guidelines
  • Prepare students records in accordance with DOL and MTC guidelines before and after student termination from center training
  • Operate electronic data processing equipment
  • Prepare local CIS reports for distribution to appropriate departments
  • Monitor supplies and assist in reordering as needed
  • Respond to student and staff inquiries regarding student records in compliance with the Privacy Act
  • Perform other general clerical duties including, but not limited to, typing correspondence, form letters, schedules, forms, reports, etc.
  • Proofread, copy documents, process incoming and outgoing mail, answer telephones, receive visitors and file documents
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
