About The Position

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and completing them daily. This role involves comparing identifying information, counts, and weights against bills of lading, orders, or other records for both incoming and outgoing shipments. The clerk will also schedule receiving appointments, examine incoming receiving paperwork for required information (e.g., code dates, manufacturing dates), and print shipping pick lists using Excel sheets, verifying inventory in the system for FEFO accuracy. Additionally, the position requires routing paperwork, double-checking all inbound and outbound paperwork for accuracy before data entry, ensuring all pick lists and trailer map sheets are submitted with every load, printing BOLs for outbound shipments, and applying seal numbers and signatures. Maintaining organized paperwork for scanning into D365 and updating shipping and receiving compliance logs daily are key responsibilities. The role also includes cross-training in all office areas to enhance efficiency and responsiveness, promoting a safe work environment through training, suggesting improvements to working conditions and equipment use, and ensuring all work adheres to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with legal and food safety requirements, including SOPs, company policies, GMPs, and maintaining a high level of safety awareness.

Requirements

  • Should understand general workings of a PC and be able to utilize Word and Excel programs.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Compares identifying information, counts, and weights against all incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, orders, or other records.

  • Maintains all paperwork in a neat organized manner, keeping all load paperwork together to be scanned into D365 upon completion.
  • Maintains both shipping and receiving compliance logs daily for accuracy.
  • Cross-trains in all areas of the office to keep it efficient and responsive to customer needs.
  • Promotes a safe work environment through training and implementation.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
  • Ensures all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensures all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed.
  • Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free workplace.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Performs cycle counts.
  • Obtains forklift certification.
