About The Position

Cencora is hiring a General Pharmacy Clerk for an onsite role at Methodist Community Pharmacy, located in the main lobby of Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The pharmacy provides outpatient prescriptions to hospital patients, medications to employees, and service to walk-in patients. The role offers on-the-job training and is described as an opportunity to gain experience in retail pharmacy and potentially further a career in the field. Onboarding and training must be completed for both Cencora and Methodist Health System.

The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday and Saturday, and is closed Sundays and all major holidays. The posting gives differing hours in two places: one section lists Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., with rotating weekday shifts of 8.5 hours including a 30-minute lunch; another lists Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., with a Saturday working shift of 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in pharmacy support, dispensing support, medication handling, healthcare operations, prescription processing, customer service, or a related field.
• Outgoing demeanor and people skills.
• Ability to multitask, learn new skills and pharmacy terminology, use computers, and stay organized.

Nice To Haves

• Retail knowledge.
• A pharmacy technician-in-training license; a pharmacy technician license is not required.
• Certification in registration, authorization, or a role-relevant credential for pharmacy activities, or equivalent.

Responsibilities
