About The Position

Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position supervises more than ten (10) designated staff and oversees the coordination of clerical workflow within Ambulatory Care such as scheduling and coordinating orientation and staffing to ensure adequate coverage for all ambulatory care clinics, supervising work activities and establishing work priorities, and conducting performance evaluations in conjunction with the Manager and/or Administrative Manager/Coordinator. Assists with meeting clerical support service needs by responding to workflow or procedures enquiries, reviewing and revising policies and procedures, setting up protocols for methods of operation, and coordinating the implementation of and training in new work methods and/or systems. Maintains departmental levels of clinic supplies and performs accounts payable functions.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 plus four years' recent, related experience including one year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to supervise
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to operate related equipment
