About The Position

This role is for a Cleanroom Maintenance Technician II on the 3rd shift, working from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. The company is actively hiring for immediate openings. The primary focus is on maintaining production, HVAC, facility equipment, and infrastructure in good working order, ensuring quality and safety are prioritized. The technician will detect and correct errors, operate equipment as needed, and perform repairs by taking equipment apart to replace parts. A strong understanding of electrical, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics is expected for repairing sophisticated equipment. After repairs, the technician will test machines to ensure proper operation. Responsibilities include performing tear downs, rebuilds, preventive maintenance, and participating in the development and training of Maintenance Technician I employees. The role requires a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed based on production demands, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Adherence to and communication of Health, Safety, and Quality policies, including the use of PPE, is mandatory. Additional responsibilities apply to SQF Certified Sites, including a basic understanding of cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices, notifying relevant personnel of repairs or adjustments, performing basic sanitation functions, and meeting company and regulatory requirements. The technician must identify and address food safety and quality issues, initiate action to prevent nonconformities, and control nonconforming products. Understanding of all company policies, including GMPs, safety policies, HACCP, and SQF, is essential.

Requirements

3+ years related experience or training.
In a certification program for maintenance, mechanical, electrical or other equipment related discipline.
Reliable self-starter with good attendance record.
Proficient in basic computer use with the ability to learn and use new systems quickly & efficiently.
Proficient in a maintenance management system.
Safely operate and use standard shop equipment.
Understanding of the concept of continuous improvement, six sigma or lean manufacturing.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Proficient in math skills (imperial & metric), as well as measurement and use of measurement tools.
Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Time-management – organized with ability to adapt to changing situations.
Work independently and in a team environment and take direction from others.
Ability to communicate clearly and work well with all levels in the organization.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills- ability to work well with all levels in the organization.

Read blue prints, electrical, hydraulic and ladder logic and operational procedures.
Knowledge, skills and ability to train Maintenance Technician I.

Stand for most of the work shift.
Use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, crouch, bend, twist, and only occasionally sit.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Heavier amounts can be moved with assistance of equipment.

Nice To Haves

Completed technical certification in maintenance or working towards mechanic, electrical, or other equipment related discipline.
Knowledge and/or previous experience in blow molding, injection molding or extrusion molding.
Experience with processing or troubleshooting of plastics manufacturing equipment.
Some knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics.
Knowledge of and/or previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus!

Responsibilities

Keep Production, HVAC, facility equipment and infrastructure in good working order.
Detect and correct errors before the machine, or the products it produces, are damaged.
Be able to effectively operate equipment as required.
May be required to take the equipment apart to repair or replace the necessary parts.
Expected to have electrical, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics to repair sophisticated equipment.
Once a repair is made, test the machine to ensure that it is running correctly and smoothly.
Perform tear downs, rebuilds and preventive maintenance.
Participate in development and training maintenance technician I employees.
Work a flexible schedule, including overtime, as needed based on production demands.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Adhere to and communicate to others the Health, Safety and Quality policies, including use of PPE.
Other duties as assigned.
Have a basic understanding of the cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices
Notify SQF Practitioner and or Supervisor of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
Perform Basic Sanitation Functions
Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, and or Regulatory Requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company, HACCP, and SQF.
Notify SQF Practitioner/Quality Manager or any other Management personnel of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues.
Identify problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the raw material, processes, quality system, or safety system, by performing Production/Quality Checks as assigned.
Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system. Be able to execute and follow the HOLD SOP.
Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
Employee follows all Food Fraud/food Defense Policies while on company property.
Thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMP’s and safety policies, HACCP & SQF.
Adhere to safety policies.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Wear company issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as uniforms, gloves, hairnets.
Have knowledge and experience with LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out)
