About The Position

Operate liquid silicone rubber (LSR) Machines while also visually inspecting parts. Perform minor troubleshooting of the equipment. Support other molding operations in the clean room when needed. This role requires adherence to strict rules and guidelines necessary to maintain ISO Certifications and standard safety procedures. The operator will be responsible for maintaining acceptable housekeeping standards and keeping their working area orderly by complying with the 6-S Program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and build positive working relationships.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to learn inspection techniques and procedures.
  • Neat, legible handwriting (or printing).
  • Ability to learn and use scales and other measuring devices.
  • Reliable with limited number of unplanned absences.
  • Responsible, dependable and uses time well.
  • Focused and able to work independently at a steady pace.
  • Able and willing to responsibly and reliably work in other areas without supervision.
  • Good vision (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Fine motor skills in hands/wrist and good hand/eye coordination required, especially when running insert jobs.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. on occasion.

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals with pacemakers or other implanted medical devices may not be suitable due to strong magnetic fields generated by certain LSR machines.

Responsibilities

  • Operate LSR molding presses and other molding operations (such as Panstone/Desma).
  • Manually inspect parts at the press to meet customer requirements.
  • Distinguish good and bad parts.
  • Meet productivity goals while maintaining product quality.
  • Clean barrels, screws, mixing equipment, and utensils.
  • Inspect and clean molds.
  • Mix material for LSR molding.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting during production.
  • Learn assigned duties in the clean room.
  • Follow approved methods and client specifications for Designated Operator jobs.
  • Follow established ISO Procedures.
  • Accurately record/communicate data using ERP system (APPX).
  • Use proper line clearance procedures to ensure segregation of parts and material.
  • Use information on JIS to understand and follow special instructions.
  • Use information on bin tags to understand and follow routing process.
  • Communicate effectively with Leads, Supervisors, Engineers, and co-workers.
  • Foster an atmosphere of teamwork.
  • Follow standard safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance.
  • Work overtime as requested or required.
  • Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards.
  • Keep working area orderly by complying with 6-S Program.
  • Maintain proper segregation of rubber at presses.
  • Learn additional processes in other departments as needed.
  • Provide assistance in other departments as needed with limited supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.
