About The Position

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a student to assist in laboratory-wide contamination control activities. This role involves chemical and thermal vacuum laboratory tasks, chemical analysis, materials testing, microscopy, precision cleaning of aerospace hardware, and cleanroom and laboratory supply stocking and maintenance. SDL delivers advanced multi-domain solutions to protect national security and enable scientific discovery. Our expertise in satellites, sensors and instruments, ground systems and data processing, and autonomous systems plays a critical role in missions supporting NASA and the Department of Defense. Requirements

Must be enrolled at Utah State University pursuing a degree in chemistry, physics, or a related field
Strong aptitude for laboratory work
Emphasis on safe laboratory practices
Ability to apply basic principles of chemistry and physics in real situations
Good verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and capable of following through on assigned tasks
Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during the summer
Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person
