About The Position

The Cleaning Associate is responsible for the overall cleaning, appearance, and cleanliness of the store. The role follows established cleaning procedures and schedules, provides customer service through cleaning practices, and maintains a clean and safe working area. Applicants must have a completed high school diploma or GED. Open availability, especially nights and weekends, is preferred. The position involves cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, replenishing dispensers, cleaning store furniture, arcades, and equipment, and sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors. Duties also include emptying wastebaskets, shampooing carpets when requested, washing walls and glass, cleaning accessible interior and exterior windows, laundering cleaning rags and dust mops, and maintaining assigned cleaning equipment and hand tools. The employee follows instructions for chemical and supply use, may use ladders, and may move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis. Other tasks may be assigned by the Facilities Manager and Regional Cleaning Specialist. The work takes place in a bowling center and arcade, where noise, dust, and activity are expected; the noise level is usually loud. The job requires regular bending, stretching, twisting, climbing, and mobility in small spaces, as well as standing and walking for extended periods during busy times. Lifting or moving up to 100 pounds with assistance is required. Requirements

Completed high school diploma or GED.
Six months to one year of experience in a bowling, entertainment, retail, or hospitality environment.
Previous experience in a retail, restaurant, or customer-service environment.
Customer-service experience in a similar or comparable work environment.
Strong verbal communication skills and a pleasant, positive, can-do attitude.
Ability to bend, stretch, twist, climb, and move in small spaces.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods without breaks during busy times.
Ability to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Follow department procedures and schedules to standardize store cleaning practices.
Deliver exceptional customer service through cleaning practices.
Become familiar with the Cleaning Department’s MSDS sheets.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish restroom dispensers.
Shampoo carpets when requested.
Clean, dust, and wipe store furniture, arcades, and equipment; sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; and empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
Use and maintain assigned cleaning equipment and hand tools for cleaning and general maintenance.
Wash walls and glass surfaces and use ladders when required for work assignments.
Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.
Wash accessible interior and exterior windows.
Launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
Stay informed about company policies and procedures related to the Facility Department.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager and Regional Cleaning Specialist.
Conduct alcohol and age-restriction control in accordance with company policies.
Conduct lost-and-found procedures in accordance with company policies.
Seek constant improvement and more efficient or less expensive ways to perform department work.
Comply with and maintain confidentiality of company policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe working area.
