About The Position

This part-time evening position is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service by keeping assigned buildings clean and welcoming. The cleaner performs a variety of tasks, including cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and kitchenettes, replenishing supplies, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and performing other floor care, dusting and polishing furniture and equipment, cleaning glass, and removing trash and recyclables. The role also includes notifying appropriate personnel when cleaning supplies or equipment are needed and performing other related duties as assigned. The schedule is 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position is performed in person. Employees may encounter prevailing weather conditions, unpleasant or noxious fumes and odors, hazardous work environments, and situations with a significant chance of injury. Personal protective equipment—including eye, face, foot, hand, and head protection—is required as appropriate to the task or assignment.

Requirements

Ability to perform the listed cleaning duties and use cleaning equipment.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crawl, bend, climb, use arms and hands to handle or grasp objects, tools, or controls, reach overhead, push, and pull.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Use personal protective equipment as required by the particular task or job assignment.

Nice To Haves

High-school diploma or General Education Degree.
At least one year of experience in janitorial or related work.
Valid Ohio driver's license.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect restroom sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, fixtures, and other surfaces; polish metalwork and replenish bathroom supplies.
Clean and disinfect kitchenette and break-room sinks, countertops, tables, floors, chairs, refrigerators, and other appliances; replenish supplies.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors using appropriate equipment; remove debris and perform other floor care as required, such as scrubbing, steam cleaning, shampooing, waxing, or polishing.
Dust, clean, and polish furniture and equipment, including desks, shelves, bookcases, and partitions; vacuum upholstered furniture when needed.
Remove dust and cobwebs from walls, doors, and windowsills.
Clean windows, mirrors, and glass and remove smudges.
Empty wastebaskets, trash receptacles, and recyclables and transport them to the proper disposal area.
Notify appropriate personnel when cleaning supplies or equipment are needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
