The Cleaning and Deburring Operator is responsible for using a variety of tools, fixtures, work instructions, test and cleaning equipment to perform secondary operations on precision components and operations to clean, test and package parts used for medical devices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficient using a computer for simple to moderate tasks.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Able to communicate with team members in a manner that results in a positive outcome for both sides.
  • Able to work independently as well as alongside team members.
  • Maintain good and cooperative relationships with colleagues involved in other aspects of the process or operations to promote strong teamwork.
  • Attention to detail and task being performed to identify potential changes and/or problems with the process and products.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions and consistently demonstrate compliance.
  • Ask questions when unclear of direction or instructions.
  • Able to inspect utilizing microscopes.
  • Desire and demonstrate ability to produce 100% quality products all the time.
  • Ability to create SWI’s and perform TWI Training.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Preferred experience with cleaning agents i.e. detergents, nitric acid

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision deburring and polishing operations under a microscope.
  • Work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Clean, passivate, and packaging parts in accordance with documented work instructions and procedures.
  • Monitor and control ultrasonic cleaning system’s tanks, temperature and cleanliness.
  • Monitor and control DI water system daily and communicate issues to supervisor.
  • Maintain consistent quality and workmanship of the components processed.
  • Process paperwork accurately and neatly.
  • Complete assignments in a timely fashion, staying on task, minimizing interruptions of work.
  • Understand and comply with Quality System Requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow standard safety procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to work prolonged hours underneath a microscope.
  • Report to work on time, including returning from breaks and lunch periods.
  • Properly task in and out of work orders.
  • Adhere to all Company policies and procedures per the LSI Solutions Employee Manual.
  • Capable of searching and locating documents and work instructions in Grand Avenue Software (GAS).
  • Perform efficiently and effectively without continuous supervision.
  • Capable of understanding and interacting with the production schedule board.
  • Capable of understanding and interacting with the PIO (Problem, Issues, & Opportunities) board.
  • Participate in developing standard work instructions.
  • Trained to handwork all Spini, TK/CK and Cor-Knot products in Metals Lab (hammer anvils and tubes).
  • Trained to dip polymer wedge tips in Cleaning Lab.
  • Trained to work in Cleaning Lab or Metals Lab.
  • Assist in training, and coaching.
  • Capable of performing most process steps in Cleaning Lab (load, unload, package and keep AKI’s running).
  • Capable of covering all responsibilities for team leader as required.
  • Capable of assisting with PM’s on equipment under the general guidance of a maintenance or production technician.
  • Direct team within product families.
  • Initiate/manage material requests to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Support all Lean and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist team members.
  • Be helpful and encouraging.
  • Lead KPI, 5S, and team meetings.
  • Manage multiple projects.
  • Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Discovery and Engineering to develop WI’s for new components and process improvement activities.
