About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with the company’s established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, walls, and bathrooms; restocking bathroom supplies; collecting and disposing of trash; monitoring and reporting defects; and clearing snow from entrances and walkways when directed. The role also includes periodic high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub interior floors and other surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum office and public-area rugs; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash entrance-door glass and trim, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate each day.
• Clean bathrooms daily, including glass, waste baskets, soap and toilet-paper dispensers, sills, tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and floors; restock paper supplies.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and burned-out lights, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from building entrance steps and walkways, and connecting walkways or sidewalks, as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
