About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The role includes routine cleaning of floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, windows, interior surfaces, bathrooms, and public areas, as well as waste collection and other assigned tasks. The Cleaner may also perform periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing, and sweep or shovel snow at building entrances and walkways as directed.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a backpack-style portable vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including their attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and other specified items, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows; wash glass and trim at entrance doors.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet-paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves and stall partitions, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights that are out and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area; replace wastebasket and trash-container liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
