About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe Marshalls store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and completing cleaning tasks throughout the store, while upholding operational, merchandising, health and safety, and loss-prevention standards. The Cleaner is cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs and may assist with customer experience, store recovery, and Front End coverage.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
Able to multitask and respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
Able to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
Able to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
Retail customer experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
Cross-train in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
Model established customer-experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Perform other duties as assigned.
