About The Position
The Cleaner (Prepper/Blaster) prepares metal surfaces for painting by cleaning, filling, blasting, and sanding. The role also involves maintaining a safe and clean work environment and completing annual Hazardous Waste Management Training. Hazardous-waste duties include identifying hazardous materials; adding or removing waste from accumulation containers or tanks; transferring waste to or from accumulation points; notifying management of hazardous-waste spills, fires, or explosions; signing waste manifests when authorized; inspecting accumulation areas; working at central accumulation points; performing tasks that involve occupational exposure to hazardous waste; and properly labeling, storing, and handling hazardous waste. Overtime commitment is required when needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to operate an overhead crane, hoist, and miscellaneous air and electric hand tools.
- Ability to work in prolonged postures, including bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting, while performing job tasks.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with hand power tools is desired.
- Some product knowledge is helpful.
Responsibilities
