The Classroom Technology Specialist I, under general supervision, diagnoses and repairs hardware and software failures and conflicts, configures computers, resolves connectivity issues within local and wide-area networks and provides support for technology-related courses in the support of instruction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Tracks and assists in the coordination of equipment repair and work order assignments. Provides detailed work records which outline the history of tests, performance problems, and repairs for each piece of equipment. Provides support for labs, classroom computers, peripherals, music and theatre computer labs, recording studios, multimedia teaching labs, theatrical spaces and site-specific installations. Creates software images and manages technical resources for deployment. Attends trainings and assists in researching, testing, and disseminating operation instructions. Tracks developments and specifications in state-of-the-art technologies, computers, peripherals, and test equipment. Provides consultative and technical services to campus community. Prepares requisitions and inventory acquisitions of products and services. Assists in training and coordinating tasks of student workers. Additional Responsibilities: Supervisory position that requires managing part-time employees and student lab assistants.
