Fulfills the requirements of punctuality, reliability, and responsibility. The teacher will have a prepared lesson plan sufficient for instructing the lesson, exercise proper care of materials and equipment, and communicate the needs of the classroom to the proper personnel. The teacher will arrive for work at the assigned hour and not leave before the assigned time. They will communicate appropriately and effectively with other staff members, parents, students, and administration. The teacher will accept assistance, advice, and guidance from supervisors and make a concerted effort toward improving skills. They will share ideas, plans, materials, and facilities. The teacher will be alert to the district’s, school’s, and his/her own goals and priorities and seek professional development appropriate to these needs. They will keep in confidence information obtained in the course of professional service, unless disclosure serves a professional purpose or is required by law. The teacher, in association with others, respects the rights, feelings, and differences among individuals, and communicates directly with the person(s) involved in any situation. While exercising contractual responsibilities, the teacher will comply with state and local restrictions pertaining to controlled substances, tobacco products, alcohol, and dress. The teacher will not verbally or physically harass students, use profanity in the presence of students, or have any sexual contact with students.
