Classroom Aide - Temporary
About The Position
Central Missouri Community Action (CMCA) is seeking a caring, energetic individual to join our team as a Temporary Classroom Aide in our Head Start classroom. This is a great opportunity to support children's development, assist teaching staff, and gain valuable experience in early childhood education, even if you're only available for a limited time. The pay is $15.09 per hour. This role is temporary and offers flexible scheduling, potentially including part-time or full-time hours based on center needs. The typical schedule is Tuesday through Friday during center hours.
Requirements
- Patient, reliable, and enthusiastic about working with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers
- Able to follow guidance from teachers and administrators
- A team player who is flexible and eager to help where needed
- Comfortable maintaining a physically active role (e.g., lifting up to 40 lbs., sitting on the floor with children, assisting with diapering and toileting)
- Must have a valid Missouri driver's license and reliable daily transportation
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with young children or low-income families preferred
- Early childhood certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing classroom activities and daily routines
- Help supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing environment
- Support children's learning, social-emotional growth, and daily needs
- Create a clean and welcoming classroom environment
- Assist with meal times and hygiene routines
- Communicate positively with parents and classroom staff
- Follow all safety, confidentiality, and licensing standards
