Classroom Aide - Anacortes
About The Position
Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County is hiring a Classroom Aide for its Anacortes Family Center Preschool. The aide works as part of a caring classroom team to encourage children to explore, play, and grow. The role supports hands-on activities, storytelling, daily routines, transitions, and children's development of friendships, helping create an environment where every child feels welcome, valued, and supported. The Classroom Aide works alongside teachers and the Club team, providing encouragement and dependable support so children can participate and succeed. This active position involves moving around the classroom, sitting on the floor, bending, and assisting children as needed. The schedule is 18–25 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Pay is $20.20–$21.43 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a $1.00-per-hour location differential.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet Washington DCYF background and health standards.
- Bring patience, flexibility, a positive attitude, reliability, and a caring, encouraging presence.
Responsibilities
- Encourage children to explore, play, and grow in a supportive classroom environment.
- Support hands-on activities, storytelling, and daily classroom routines.
- Help children navigate friendships and participate in classroom activities.
- Offer encouragement and assist with transitions.
- Work alongside teachers and the Club team to provide children with the support they need to succeed.
- Assist children as needed.
