About The Position

Join our Head Start team as a Classroom Aide Floater and help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where preschool children can learn and succeed. This role is perfect for individuals who are dependable, energetic, and passionate about supporting children's growth and development. Every day brings opportunities to encourage learning, model positive behaviors, and help children build the skills they need for school and life. As a Classroom Aide, you will work alongside teachers and other Head Start staff to support daily classroom activities and ensure children remain safe, engaged, and cared for throughout the day. This specialized position includes placement in various program locations based on program need as determined by the Preschool Manager. Depending on assignment, you may also accompany children on a bus and assist with safety procedures during transportation.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Ability to work effectively with young children
Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and work as part of a team
Basic technology skills, including email and online trainings

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English-Spanish skills are a plus

Responsibilities

Assisting with educational activities and classroom routines
Supporting child safety at all times, both inside and outside the classroom
Encouraging positive behavior and social interactions
Assisting with activities such as handwashing, toothbrushing, toileting, and meal times
Helping prepare learning materials and classroom resources
Building positive relationships with children, families, staff, and volunteers
Participating in meetings, trainings, and educational field trips
Completing required documentation accurately and on time
