About The Position

This position supports the City in its labor negotiations with over 30 unions and more than 35,000 employees such as custodians, sheriffs, engineers, electricians, and nurses and is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to labor law, labor negotiations and working for the City and County of San Francisco. This position provides costing support for a management bargaining team led by a chief negotiator and consisting of a Deputy City Attorney, Employee Relations Division representatives, department representatives and with coordination with the Mayor’s Budget Office and the Office of the Controller.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Excel.
  • Ability to use and query databases.
  • Strong math, statistics and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift directions rapidly.
  • Can operate effectively with a very low margin of error.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Civil Service system
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze information and create charts and matrixes
  • Experience with database queries
  • A master’s degree in public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, accounting or other closely related fields of study is preferred.

  • Drafting and interpreting contract language.
  • Analyzing information and succinctly summarizing using charts and matrixes.
