About The Position

Maine Oxy is hiring a full-time Class B Route Driver for local routes in Waterford, Connecticut. The driver delivers specialty-gas cylinders and hard goods, returns empty cylinders for refilling, and supports local customers. Routes are local, with the driver home every night and on weekends. This is a steady, year-round day-shift position with a flexible route schedule and overtime typically available.

Maine Oxy transports specialty gases used by medical and veterinary offices, breweries, welders, metal fabricators, and other customers. The company describes its 300-person team as collaborative and focused on integrity, attention to detail, and safety.

Requirements

• Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement and air brakes.
• At least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of driving experience or driving school training within the past four years.
• No at-fault accidents or moving violations in the past three years.
• Able to meet DOT physical qualification standards.
• Able to read Safety Data Sheets and comfortable with basic computer order entry.

Responsibilities

• Run a scheduled local route delivering cylinders and hard goods, and return empties for refilling.
• Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Keep load manifests and vehicle paperwork accurate and balanced with truck counts.
• Build good customer relationships and help customers stay ahead of their cylinder needs.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Follow all DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Keep the truck clean and professional.
