About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is seeking experienced CDL B Commercial Roll Off Truck Drivers for their Hammonton, NJ location. This position offers steady, year-round work with an early start time of 4:30 am, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday hours after major holidays. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL.
  • Airbrake Endorsement.
  • 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience within the last 7 years.
  • Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
  • Great Safety Record and Clean MVR.
  • Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA & Applicable Traffic Regulations.
  • Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
  • Ability to read and understand a map.
  • Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
  • Willing and able to work required hours as allowed under DOT regulation, which may include weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Driver or Helper for a Refuge Company is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operating front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
  • Transporting material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility, potentially making multiple trips per shift.
  • Performing pre and post-trip inspections to ensure truck compliance with safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
  • Navigating through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
  • Performing highly skilled backing maneuvers.
  • Routinely climbing in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
