3K Sign On Bonus-Class B HAZMAT Truck Driver / Equipment Operator
About The Position
Clean Harbors is hiring a Class B CDL Driver-Hazmat in South Portland, Maine, to operate light- and heavy-duty trucks and work equipment at customer sites. Vehicles may include vacuum trailers, roll-off trailers, van trailers, box trucks, and high-powered vacuum loaders. The role includes driving and non-driving work on and off customer sites related to hazardous-waste cleanup, with field labor assistance as needed. The position involves travel, on-call availability, and emergency response. Depending on the position, employees may be required to participate in rotating emergency on-call coverage every other week and perform site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous-material handling. New hires must attend a paid, one-week training academy out of state; the company pays travel expenses.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Ability to use various mobile devices.
- Ability to perform physical functions required by the job.
- Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as applicable to the position.
- For positions requiring respirators, meet facial-hair standards under OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34.

Responsibilities
- Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and prioritize health and safety.
- Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as needed.
- Operate a variety of Class B trucks.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Ensure customer satisfaction at the time of service.
- Properly placard vehicles in accordance with company and DOT requirements and regulations.
- Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and other reports.
- Follow local, state or provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT and local, state or provincial, and federal requirements.
- Follow corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
- Follow company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- By position, participate in rotating emergency-response on-call coverage every other week.
- By position, perform site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous-material handling.
