About The Position

American Welding and Gas, Inc. ("AWG") has an immediate opportunity for a Class B CDL Delivery Driver in Springfield, MO. This position requires a Class B CDL with Air Brakes & HazMat endorsements. AWG is an employee-owned company that manufactures and distributes industrial, medical, specialty, and beverage gases. AWG is headquartered in Raleigh, NC with 76 branch locations and 16 gas fill plants in 20 states. As one of the largest independent gas and welding supply distributors, AWG has the expertise, assets, and sources of supply necessary to service large, bulk cryogenic gas customers as well as small businesses. AWG is growing rapidly and looking for top talent to move us forward.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent
Class B CDL Required with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsement or the ability to obtain both endorsements
Clean driving record
Able to read and write English
Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.)
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, Back Assessment and company administered road test
Ability to communicate with customers

Responsibilities

Loading, unloading, moving and storage of gas and liquid cylinders and other hard good supplies
Making deliveries to customers or other branches
Filling out delivery tickets completely and accurately
Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Comply with all DOT+OSHA Regulations
Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently
Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets
Maintains cleanliness of vehicle
Performs other duties as assigned
