About The Position

LeMay Centralia, a Waste Connections Company, is hiring a reliable and motivated Class B CDL Driver in Centralia, Washington. The driver safely operates a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste and services customers according to route sheets or dispatcher assignments. Previous waste industry experience is preferred but not required; training is available for the right candidate. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime available. Starting pay is $28 per hour, with annual pay increases and bonus opportunities. The role is safety-sensitive and physically demanding, involving heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling, sometimes without assistance. Work includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, frequent wet or humid conditions, fumes, and vibrations.

Requirements

Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
Clean driving record; applicants are asked to bring a copy of their MVR to the in-person interview.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant driving experience.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to lift, push, or pull objects over 50 pounds.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Nice To Haves

Previous waste industry experience.
Ability to operate 10-, 13-, and 18-speed transmissions.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
