About The Position

Kahut Waste Services, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a Class B CDL Driver to work in Clackamas and Canby, Oregon. The driver operates an automated side-load vehicle on assigned routes based on business needs, servicing customers and transporting refuse or recycling to designated facilities. The position is safety-sensitive and involves route-based work, vehicle inspections, physical labor, and customer interaction. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 5:30 AM and ending when the route is completed. Routes typically average about 45 hours per week. Starting pay is $36.00 per hour. Applicants must complete an application through Waste Connections’ website and meet the stated driving, screening, and physical requirements.

Requirements

At least 1 year of commercial driving experience using a Class B license.
Stable work history, with at least 2 years in the most recent position.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Clean driving record and compliance with DOT regulations (49 CFR 383.51).
Ability to handle the physical demands of the job.
Basic knowledge of truck components for pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Must pass a clean drug panel screening, have a clean motor vehicle report, and be eligible for a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Operate an automated side-load vehicle on specified routes according to business needs.
Safely service customers throughout the day, completing up to 900 stops per day.
Read the route tablet and service each customer listed on it or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform physically demanding work, including loading and unloading, sometimes without helpers.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse.
Dispose of trash and recycling at designated facilities.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
