About The Position

Caruso, a family-owned fourth-generation company, delivers fresh ready-to-eat and pre-cut produce, sandwiches, salads, and fresh meal kits to retail distribution centers and direct-to-retail stores throughout the United States. The company is growing and is hiring experienced Class A Drivers based out of Smyrna, Tennessee. Drivers return home daily. Pick-up times are between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and routes go to either Atlanta, Georgia, or Memphis, Tennessee. Freight requires minimal handling. Weekend work is required on a rotating basis.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a Class A license.
Must have at least 9 months of verifiable experience in the last 3 years.
Must have a good driving record, with no reckless driving, DUI/OMVI, hit and run, excessive speed as defined by DOT (15 or more miles over), or preventable accidents; no more than 2 moving violations within the last 24 months.
Ability to work and drive in all types of weather.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Excellent and prompt attendance on each scheduled day.

Nice To Haves

Experience with refrigerated products.
Previous route delivery experience.

Responsibilities

Transport goods to and from the manufacturing plant and other depots.
Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues, and perform preventive maintenance.
Meet delivery schedules.
Document and log work and rest periods and miles driven, and retain fuel and toll receipts.
Comply with truck-driving rules and regulations and company policies and procedures.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
Collect and verify delivery instructions.
Report defects, accidents, or violations.
