About The Position
California Sierra Express is hiring an experienced part-time Class A CDL Driver for its Hayward operation. This position supports time-sensitive freight pickups and deliveries throughout the greater Bay Area on a consistent Saturday and Sunday day-shift schedule. It involves local routes and Class A tractor-trailer work. The role may suit an experienced Class A driver seeking regular weekend work without a full-time schedule. Compensation is $30.00–$33.50 per hour, depending on experience. The company provides paid training and company-leased equipment. California Sierra Express has served the airfreight logistics industry for more than 35 years, operating five freight terminals in California and one in Nevada and providing pickup, delivery, and linehaul services for domestic and international freight forwarders.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Commercial Class A tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Experience operating 53-foot tractor-trailers.
- Safe driving record.
- Dependable Saturday and Sunday availability.
- Ability to safely handle freight when required.
- Ability to meet DOT, FMCSA, TSA, company, insurance, background-screening, and drug-testing requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Hazmat endorsement preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer equipment on assigned weekend routes.
- Complete time-sensitive pickups and deliveries.
- Load, unload, and secure freight when required.
- Verify and report freight dimensions and weights.
- Complete vehicle inspections, manifests, and required documentation.
- Provide professional service at customer and freight facilities.
- Follow company safety policies and applicable DOT, FMCSA, TSA, and OSHA requirements.
- Maintain dependable weekend attendance.
