About The Position

American Welding & Gas, Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Class A CDL Delivery Driver at its Columbia, South Carolina location. The driver uses a company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers, collect returns, and safely move, load, and unload gas cylinders. The role requires following company procedures and applicable DOT and OSHA regulations, completing accurate shipping and delivery paperwork, and keeping the vehicle clean.

The position requires a Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Airbrakes endorsements, a clean commercial driving record, and the ability to handle cylinders and communicate with customers. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and company-administered road test. American Welding & Gas is a manufacturer and distributor of industrial gases and a provider of welding supplies. Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Airbrakes endorsements.
• Clean commercial driving record with 3+ years.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; frequently lift 50–75 pounds and maneuver cylinders weighing over 100 pounds, including by rolling them or using a cart.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and company-administered road test.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Work in a drug-free environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products and equipment to customers safely and courteously using a company vehicle.
• Pick up returns at customers’ places of business.
• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Comply with DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Move, load, and unload empty and full cylinders safely and efficiently.
• Prepare and complete paperwork, including shipping papers and delivery tickets, accurately.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
