About The Position

US Foods is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver to deliver products safely and reliably to customers. The role involves navigating highways and city streets, maneuvering into tight docks, and unloading products with precision. Drivers provide customer service and help ensure deliveries are completed accurately and efficiently. The position is based in Chester, Virginia, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule and dispatch between midnight and 1 AM. The posting states that drivers earn an average of $90,000 annually.

Requirements

• Register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence, with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Have at least 6 months of commercial driving experience in any industry, or 3 months of commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry.
• Be able to read and communicate in English, including holding a conversation, understanding highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and entering information on reports and records.
• Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and lower 20 to 80+ pounds of product repetitively during each shift.
• Be able to drive and work in inclement weather with frequent stops, stated as 10 or more per shift.
• Be comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.
• Be able to perform the stated physical activities, including grasping and manipulating objects, sitting, standing, walking, driving, climbing and balancing, stooping and squatting, kneeling and bending, reaching above the shoulder, twisting, and using manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unload products using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, and place them in designated storage areas; this is 100% touch freight.
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
• Provide professional service to enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
• Handle collections and payments when applicable.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
