About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Worcester, MA for a high-paying, high-flexibility position supporting multiple accounts across the Northeast and New England. This role is ideal for drivers who want strong weekly earnings and steady work, and who are comfortable being out multiple days at a time. While routes are regional, the travel commitment is similar to a Home Weekly OTR position depending on business needs. This position offers high weekly pay with consistent work, with average earnings of $1,900+ per week. The top 10% of drivers earn $100,000+ annually. The base pay is $26.00 per hour, with an additional $1/hour for every 3 certifications or endorsements. Overtime is paid after 40 hours, and drivers receive $50 per diem per night. The schedule is Monday through Friday with required flexibility, approximately 40+ hours per week. This role involves regional solo routes throughout the Northeast and New England, with frequent overnight travel, often multiple days out at a time. Routes vary as you support different Ryder customer accounts. Company-paid hotel accommodations or sleeper trucks are provided. The company utilizes a modern fleet (3 years or newer) including day cabs, sleepers, and occasional straight trucks. Trailers include flatbed, dry van, reefer, conestoga, curtainside, and container. Freight can be touch and no-touch. Equipment provided includes pallet jacks, lift gates, rollers, and/or Moffetts. Requirements

  • 1 year of flatbed experience
  • Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples endorsements
  • Load securement experience (strapping, tarping, chaining)
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
