About The Position

The Dump Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty dump truck equipped with a hydraulic bed to transport and unload biosolid materials. This position delivers materials to and from land application sites, agricultural areas, and other designated locations. The ideal candidate will be a safety-focused and dependable professional who is comfortable operating large vehicles across active job sites, unpaved roads, and challenging terrain.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
  • Acceptable driving record that meets company and insurance requirements.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic dump-bed controls and safe unloading procedures.
  • Ability to safely navigate construction sites, agricultural areas, unpaved roads, and uneven terrain.
  • Ability to complete required vehicle inspections and documentation accurately.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions from dispatchers, managers, and site personnel.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty commercial vehicles is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a heavy-duty dump truck to transport biosolid materials.
  • Haul materials to and from land application sites, agricultural areas, and other assigned locations.
  • Use internal levers and hydraulic controls to safely raise and lower the truck bed.
  • Dump or spread loads according to site requirements and instructions.
  • Confirm pickup and delivery locations before transporting or unloading materials.
  • Maneuver large, heavy vehicles through tight spaces, active job sites, uneven surfaces, and unpaved terrain.
  • Coordinate with project managers, dispatchers, loading crews, and site personnel regarding pickup and drop-off locations.
  • Maintain professional and timely communication throughout each shift.
  • Follow assigned routes and comply with all site-specific procedures.
  • Complete and maintain accurate trip logs, delivery records, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable DOT regulations.
  • Report vehicle, equipment, load, route, or safety concerns immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after every shift.
  • Inspect tires, brakes, lights, mirrors, fluid levels, and other required vehicle components.
  • Inspect the hydraulic dumping mechanism to ensure it operates safely and properly.
  • Identify and report mechanical problems, damage, or maintenance needs immediately.
  • Keep the assigned vehicle clean, organized, and in safe operating condition.
