About The Position

Beck Construction & Excavation is seeking a dependable Class A CDL Dump Truck Driver for their field team. This is a local driving position, ensuring drivers are home every night. The company focuses on keeping crews busy year-round with overtime opportunities available based on project demands. Drivers will transport various materials such as dirt, aggregate, pipe, equipment, concrete, and construction supplies between the company yard, vendors, and project sites across the Wasatch Front, with occasional travel throughout Utah. The role primarily involves operating dump trucks, but may also include hauling equipment and materials. The ideal candidate takes pride in safe equipment operation, maintains their truck diligently, and prefers being part of a team over solitary driving.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card).
  • Experience operating manual transmission commercial trucks.
  • Experience operating dump trucks required.
  • Safe driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must pass DOT-required pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience hauling construction materials or heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles with manual transmissions, including up to 18-speed transmissions.
  • Primarily operate dump trucks while hauling construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Operate side dumps, transport trucks, lowboys, or similar equipment as needed.
  • Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance, including greasing, checking fluids, and replacing lights.
  • Secure and tarp loads as required.
  • Communicate with foremen, superintendents, and project teams to coordinate deliveries.
  • Keep trucks clean, organized, and well maintained.
  • Assist field crews with loading, unloading, and general construction tasks when driving is complete.
