About The Position

Zuern Building Products is a family-owned and operated building material supplier and design company with five expansive facilities and complete showrooms. We take pride in our tradition of providing high quality building materials and valuable services to our customers. We are currently seeking Class A-CDL Drivers to join our Franklin team. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic, a clean driving record, and the ability to operate a forklift and moffet. The candidate must be willing to perform manual labor.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record.
  • Two or more years of commercial driving, delivery, or related industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, safe driving practices, load securement, and material handling procedures.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers, dispatchers, and team members.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 to over 100 pounds on a consistent basis with the ability to twist, bend, and move materials safely. Possible weight of 125 pounds and over at times.
  • Forklift certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Familiarity with navigation systems and the ability to efficiently navigate delivery routes.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting loads, delivery documents, and customer orders.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Self-starter who works well independently as well as with others.
  • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and moffet.
  • Willingness to perform manual labor.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Federal, State, DOT, and company regulations related to commercial vehicle operations.
  • Follow company safety policies and best practices while loading, transporting, and unloading materials.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, drivers, customers, and team members to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Assist in loading delivery vehicles and verifying loads prior to departure.
  • Inspect invoices and delivery documentation to ensure load accuracy.
  • Perform tie-down and load securement inspections before leaving the yard.
  • Safely transport building materials and product returns.
  • Inspect delivery sites and use sound judgment to safely maneuver vehicles, unload materials, and protect customer property during deliveries.
  • Safely unload building materials and product returns while providing excellent customer service.
  • Meet scheduled delivery deadlines while maintaining safety and service standards.
  • Take and upload required delivery and return photos using the BisTrack app.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic truck maintenance and promptly report maintenance concerns.
  • Assist in loading customer pickup orders as needed.
  • Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory when not making deliveries.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, equipment, inventory, and buildings.
  • Protect materials from damage during loading, transportation, unloading, and storage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
