About The Position

VCT is seeking safe and reliable Class A CDL truck drivers for its refuse fleet in the Wenatchee area. This role involves hauling refuse from transfer station sites in Wenatchee, Cle Elum, and Ellensburg to the Wenatchee Landfill. The driver will be responsible for safely transporting refuse, following all Waste Management rules at the landfill, including wearing appropriate PPE, backing onto a tipper, unhooking the trailer, and reconnecting after unloading. Dispatch is managed via company radio.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license
• Current DOT medical card
• Team player
• Safe and reliable
• Physically able to lift 100 lbs. occasionally
• Physically able to climb a ladder occasionally
• Willing and able to use tire chains as necessary/required
• Be physically able to open manual tarp systems using upper body strength
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• Requires minimal supervision and ability to think outside the box.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections to ensure that the equipment is safe to operate.
• Report any defects to the appropriate department.
• Follow direction from dispatch.
• Comply with ALL DOT regulations (i.e., weight restrictions, rest breaks, etc.).
• Report any violations or citations immediately.
