About The Position

VCT is seeking safe and reliable Class A CDL truck drivers for their night shift fleet in the Missoula, MT area. The primary responsibility is hauling wood residuals from Deer Lodge, MT to Missoula, MT, and potentially other local mill sites. This role involves safely and efficiently transporting materials, adhering to all site-specific PPE and safety rules, backing onto tippers, unhooking/connecting trailers, and scaling loads. Dispatching is handled via company radio. Responsibilities may change and are not limited to the items listed.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license
• Current DOT medical card
• Team player
• Safe and reliable
• Physically able to lift 100 lbs. occasionally
• Physically able to climb a ladder occasionally
• Willing and able to use tire chains as necessary/required
• Be physically able to open manual tarp systems using upper body strength
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• Requires a person that needs minimal supervision and one that can think outside the box.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections to ensure that the equipment is safe to operate.
• Report any defects to the appropriate department.
• Follow direction from dispatch.
• Comply with ALL DOT regulations (i.e., weight restrictions, rest breaks, etc.).
• Report any violations or citations immediately.
