About The Position

NIS Express is hiring entry-level Class A CDL drivers in Bessemer, AL. This position offers a paid one-on-one training program for individuals who have completed 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school. No over-the-road experience is required. Drivers will operate modern equipment, transport dry van freight with a focus on drop and hook, and benefit from weekly or bi-weekly home time. The training program covers essential aspects of tractor-trailer operation, safety, ELD compliance, inspections, and company procedures, ensuring drivers are well-prepared before going solo.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Completion of 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school
• Acceptable driving record with a focus on safety
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Transport no-touch dry van freight – approximately 70% drop and hook
• Meet delivery appointments and maintain on-time performance
• Keep accurate ELD logs, DVIRs and trip reports
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues immediately
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers
