About The Position

NIS Express is hiring Class A CDL Drivers in Columbus, MS. This trainee position is ideal for recent CDL school graduates looking for immediate employment and pay. The role involves Class A tractor-trailer operation with a focus on DOT compliance, handling no-touch dry van freight (approximately 70% drop and hook), and maintaining consistent delivery schedules. Drivers will be responsible for accurate ELD logs, DVIRs, trip documentation, and performing thorough pre and post-trip vehicle inspections. Professional communication with dispatch and customers is essential.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license
• 21 years of age or older
• 120 or more hours completed at an accredited CDL school
• Clean driving record
• Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Class A tractor-trailer operation, fully DOT compliant
• No-touch dry van freight – approximately 70% drop and hook
• Consistent delivery schedules with strong on-time performance expectations
• Accurate ELD logs, DVIRs and trip documentation maintained daily
• Thorough pre and post-trip vehicle inspections every shift
• Professional communication with dispatch and customers at all times
• Tractor-trailer handling and road safety
