About The Position
Sunrise Chick Sales, a division of Sunrise Farms, is seeking an experienced and qualified Class 1 driver. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, knowledgeable in National Safety Code regulations, and possess strong time-management, due diligence, and accountability skills due to the independent nature of the work. Sunrise Farms is one of the largest chicken processors in Canada and a top 25 Food and Beverage manufacturer.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years issued Class 1 license with air brake (Q) endorsement
- Clean Commercial Driver’s Abstract printed within 30 days.
- Resume with minimum of 3 years working experience with references
- Provincial/Federal Daily Driver’s Log experience
- Positive attitude and work ethic
Nice To Haves
- Experience with transporting livestock is an asset
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment.
- Safety must come first daily.
- On-time delivery.
- Excellent attendance.
- Delivering live poultry from Hatchery to farm.
- Operating tractor units as far north as Ponoka, Alberta.
- Responsible for transporting day old chicks from the Hatchery to farm locations.
