About The Position

We are looking for highly motivated and skilled individuals to come on board as Class 1 Owner Operators to haul loads throughout the province of Alberta, with Edmonton being the centre of operations. This position is Monday to Friday with some weekend work as needed. The Driver must own and operate their own semi truck. This is a contract position based out of Edmonton, Alberta. You will work with our crews in a driving capacity delivering loads of scrap metal from our customers location to the steel mill.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years Class 1 A driving experience with a manual transmission is required.
• You must own your own semi truck.
• Ability to perform physically demanding duties. Physical fitness is required with the ability to lift 50lbs or more, climb ladders, walk long distances, frequent bending and picking up objects off the ground etc.
• High degree of respect for equipment and safe work practices.
• Take pride and accountability in your work.
• Excellent communicator who works best in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt to change.
• Use problem solving skills while using good judgement.
• Own and operate their own semi truck.
• Have and maintain a valid Class 1 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening including drug and alcohol testing.
• Successfully complete a background check.
• Work extended hours and travel to various work sites.
• Employees must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• Off road experience is considered an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Navigating to and from different job sites.
• Assisting in the loading and scrap removal process.
• Delivering loads of scrap metal to steel mills.
