About The Position

Central Prairie Cartage is looking to grow its Red Deer terminal by hiring a City P&D Driver. This role involves Monday to Friday work, starting at 7:00 am. Central Prairie Cartage is a diversified general freight carrier providing LTL & TL services in Alberta. The Class 1 City Pick-Up & Delivery Driver will be responsible for loading and unloading their truck, completing pick-ups and deliveries in the Red Deer area, and ensuring safe operation of equipment.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 operator’s license
• 2-5 years driving experience
• General knowledge of the freight industry
• Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding safe operation of commercial vehicles, hours of service, and handling of dangerous goods
• Positive attitude with the ability to work alone or in a team environment
• Strong communication skills are a must
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Deck experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Complete pick up and deliveries in and around Red Deer using a 53-foot trailer, pup, or body job.
• Assist with loading and unloading of truck and safe operation of pallet jack, forklift, and power walker.
• Complete daily logs and comply with hours-of-service regulations.
• Conduct daily inspection of the vehicle.
• Manual lifting, up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime required.
