About The Position

Central Prairie Cartage is an emerging freight carrier in Red Deer, specializing in LTL (Less Than Truckload) services. We are seeking experienced Class 1 Pick-up & Delivery Drivers to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a change and eager to grow with a new and evolving company. The ideal candidate must be available to work Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 am.

Requirements

Valid Class 1 license.
2-5 years Class 1 driving experience.
Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding safe operation of commercial vehicles, hours of service, and handling of dangerous goods.
Experience operating a pallet jack.
Experience operating a forklift.
Ability to chain up as required.
Strong command of the English language.
A positive attitude.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs manually.
Availability to work overtime as needed.
Must submit a 5-year commercial abstract with resume.

Responsibilities

Load and unload your truck while completing pick-ups and deliveries around the Red Deer area.
Operate a truck and trailer combination including 48 and 53 foot trailers.
May operate a power tailgate.
Operate a forklift on a cross dock.
Use a pallet jack and manually lift to load and unload your truck.
Maintain driver logs.
Complete associated paperwork.
Perform general shop duties such as cleaning, sweeping, and organizing.
