About The Position

As the Ministry Center Coordinator at the Clarkston Ministry Center, you will help establish local ministry, coordinate compassion ministry among churches, mobilize volunteers, and provide operational leadership in support of Send Relief’s ministry objectives. Your work will help meet needs, build meaningful relationships, equip churches and ministry partners, and create opportunities to share the gospel through contextualized compassion ministry. About the Role The Ministry Center Coordinator supports the Ministry Center Director and the Send Relief team by helping develop local ministry initiatives, coordinating compassion ministry efforts, strengthening relationships with churches and ministry partners, and mobilizing volunteers. This position will help grow core ministry activities and provide practical learning environments that equip churches, partners, and individuals to serve their communities effectively. The Ministry Center Coordinator will also maintain ministry metrics, support communication and networking efforts, and assist with the day-to-day operational needs of the Ministry Center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience in contextualized or cross-cultural ministry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, deadlines, and details with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to translate broad ministry vision into clear next steps, assignments, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and ability to move people and projects toward completion.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate challenges and identify practical solutions.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with people from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to use digital tools, online applications, and data systems to support ministry mobilization and reporting.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with ministry events, volunteer activities, and Ministry Center operations.
  • Evidence of a mature and growing Christian walk characterized by the principles reflected in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  • Personal wisdom and sufficiency grounded in Christ and the Word of God, with a life submitted to God’s authority.
  • A daily soul-winning lifestyle.
  • The ability to effectively lead others in prayer.
  • Regular and generous giving to the work of the local church.

  • Active membership and involvement in a local Southern Baptist church, as time permits.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving in ministry, missions, community engagement, volunteer coordination, or a related field is preferred.
  • Cross-cultural ministry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to remain flexible, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced ministry environment with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Advance Compassion Ministry Efforts: Support compassion ministry through assessment, training, partnership development, networking, and mobilization of churches and church planters as part of a movement of restoration-based compassion ministry.
  • Support Networking and Partnerships: Assist the Ministry Center and ministry partners in developing connections among churches, partners, and church planters through vision tours, mission trips, events, and other ministry opportunities.
  • Grow Core Ministry Activities: Help develop and support ministry activities that serve the local community while providing practical learning environments for churches, partners, and individuals.
  • Equip Churches and Partners: Assist in equipping churches, ministry partners, and volunteers to engage in contextualized compassion ministry that meets community needs and builds lasting relationships.
  • Collaborate with Community Coalitions: Work with ministry partners and community coalitions seeking the good of individuals, families, and the broader community through service, relationship-building, and gospel engagement.
  • Maintain Ministry Relationships: Establish and maintain appropriate communication and positive relationships with churches, ministry partners, volunteers, church planters, and other stakeholders contributing to Send Relief’s ministry.
  • Maintain Strategic Metrics: Accurately maintain strategic ministry metrics within NAMB data systems and utilize online tools and applications to mobilize churches for compassion ministry.
  • Provide Operational Support: Assist with Ministry Center operations, ministry events, volunteer coordination, and other activities that support the effectiveness of the Send Relief team.
  • Complete other duties and tasks as assigned by Ministry Center leadership.
