Clamp Operator

BrandsMart•Stockbridge, GA

About The Position

The Clamp Operator operates a clamp forklift to process manufacturer goods in a distribution warehouse or store warehouse. Under the general direction of line supervisors, the operator loads, unloads, stacks, palletizes and unpalletizes, moves, and removes goods, and performs other work as required. This is not an entry-level position: applicants must already work for BrandsMart USA and obtain the position by promotion or transfer, and must demonstrate forklift proficiency. The role may be full-time or part-time, and employees work in either a distribution center or store warehouse. Operators must handle merchandise without damaging products, buildings, customer property, or coworkers’ property. Goods may arrive in cartons weighing 5 to 250 pounds and must be moved to designated staging areas, stacked, and counted. Operators sort and verify merchandise against shipping documents, using a manual ledger or computer terminal, and may identify products by size, style, color, make, and model. They move and organize boxes or pallets for additional verification and place or retrieve goods from stacking areas without disturbing adjacent stacks. Depending on the shift, duties may instead focus on moving boxes between pallets and sorting areas, restacking warehouse sections, or loading intercompany shipments. Operators are expected to process more than 100 boxes per hour. The position requires prior BrandsMart USA warehouse experience, at least two years of warehouse or distribution center experience, and forklift operating experience. BrandsMart USA will site-certify employees in forklift operation within a reasonable amount of time. No special license is required, but a valid Florida driver’s license is required.
