About The Position

Western National is seeking a Claims Training Lead to join our team! The individual in this role will have the opportunity to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs across all property-and-casualty lines of business, ensuring claims employees are equipped with the technical knowledge, systems proficiency, and claims handling skills necessary to drive quality outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, education, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three years of claims handling experience across multiple property-and-casualty lines of business.
  • Strong instructional design and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and practical learning experiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems and training technologies.
  • Working knowledge of claims systems, policy administration systems, and standard office software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing e-learning or blended learning programs.
  • Prior coaching or mentoring experience.
  • Experience in training delivery, facilitation, or instructional design.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design and execution of the annual Claims Trainee Program, including curriculum development, facilitation, and evaluation.
  • Manages onboarding and structured training for new claims employees, ensuring effective early-stage development.
  • Develops and delivers training programs (instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning) for claims staff across property-and-casualty lines of business.
  • Creates and maintains training materials and resources that support technical, systems, and professional skill development.
  • Partners with claims leadership to identify training needs and align programs with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness using assessments and performance metrics and implements continuous improvements.
  • Provides coaching and ongoing learning support to reinforce knowledge and enhance employee performance.
  • Maintains training documentation and ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Exercises independent judgment in the design and delivery of training programs and determines appropriate learning methods and tools.
  • Collaborates with leadership to prioritize training initiatives that are aligned with organizational needs.
