About The Position

The Claims Support Tech handles incoming claims and claims-related correspondence, scanning go documentation, claims data validation, manual claim entry and other related work in support of the Claims Administration department. Driscoll Children’s Hospital and its specialty centers, urgent care centers, and after-hours facility serve a vast area covering 31 South Texas counties. The hospital is a 191-bed tertiary care center offering 32 medical and 13 surgical specialties. Requirements

  • One year certification from college or technical school, or one-year related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum High school graduate or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the operations of the Claims Administration department.
  • Ensures all incoming claims and claims-related correspondence are handled and processed efficiently and promptly, according to departmental procedures.
  • Performs scanning and data validation and correction of paper claims documentation to ensure accuracy of claims OCR data.
  • Performs manual entry of submitted claims data as needed.
  • Effectively prioritizes and completes all assigned tasks within appropriate timeframes and with required level of quality.
  • Openly participates in team meetings, providing ideas and suggestions to ensure departmental efficiency and quality, and to promote teamwork.
  • Maintain required compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Maintains or exceeds all established standards for performance, quality and timeliness.
  • Supports the Claims department in review, investigation, and research of claims documentation issues.
  • Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to all Health System and Health Plan policies and procedures.
  • Assists with other related work responsibilities as requested.
