About The Position

The Claims Specialist I is responsible for managing and resolving accepted customer vehicle damage claims across Mister Car Wash retail locations. This role focuses on ensuring accurate claim review, thorough documentation, and timely resolution in alignment with company policies and operational standards. The specialist works closely with internal departments to coordinate repairs, facilitate compensation, and support a positive customer experience. While the role does not determine liability, it plays a critical part in evaluating estimates, validating repair scopes, and issuing approvals for accepted claims. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and consistency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in claims handling, customer service, or risk management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and claims management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a retail, automotive, or service-based environment preferred.
  • Car Wash experience preferred.
  • Insurance or risk management certifications a plus.
  • Familiarity with legal and insurance terminology is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of risk management principles.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm claim acceptance or denial based on internal / field investigation findings.
  • Help the field determine the most appropriate resolution for customer damage claims.
  • Receive, Review, and Compare customer-submitted estimates to ensure alignment with Accepted damages.
  • Approve repair estimates, or request revisions as needed.
  • Draft and Send Release Agreements when appropriate as a claim resolution.
  • Book and maintain customer rentals during repair.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed claim records in the company’s tracking system.
  • Serve as a liaison between field teams, vendors, and support departments (AP, legal, etc.).
  • Occasionally communicate with customers on approved claims via email.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, insurance requirements, and applicable laws.
  • Support audits and reporting efforts by providing accurate documentation and insights.
